The last few months have flown by for Kehillah. We are steadily growing in numbers with children of all ages, opening new classrooms, and we have welcomed a new Assistant Director, Marie Masseo. Marie was previously at Huguenot Nursery School as the curriculum director and joins us with over 33 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood education. She has spent her first few weeks with us getting to know the children, staff, and families. We are very excited to have her as a part of the Kehillah community!
During the month of November, we were busy preparing for and celebrating Thanksgiving and Chanukah. Each family had an opportunity to add a feather of thanks to our Thankful Turkey in the front lobby. For Chanukah, each child created a Menorah they brought home to share with their families. We gathered each night in the lobby with Rabbi Jesse and Cantor to sing and join in lighting the candles on the Temple Menorah. On the Friday before Chanukah, we gathered for community Shabbat in the courtyard. Children practiced songs with their class in advance, which they sang for the community. The evening was complete with hot cocoa, apple cider, and sufganiyot (jelly donuts).
As we look to the new year, we are excited to bring back Gym On Wheels weekly for our Toddlers and PreK. We hope to bring in other outside enrichment; such as Mad Science, Yoga, and Dance. As we look to continue to enrich our school; we are seeking highly qualified early childhood educators to join our community. If you or someone you know may be interested please have them contact us!
The Kehillah community would also like to send out a huge Thank You to the Brotherhood and Sisterhood for the donation of candles and gelt for our Chanukah gift bags to families. Todah Rabah! Thank you!
